Scott McMurry is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Toxicology and The Institute of Wildlife and Environmental Toxicology at Clemson University in South Carolina. He received his Ph.D. in Fisheries and Wildlife Ecology from Oklahoma State University in 1993 where he studied the effects of petroleum waste on immune function and population and community dynamics of wild rodents. He has been researching the effects of stressors on wildlife populations for 10 years, focusing on small mammal population and community dynamics in disturbed environments. His recent research activities and interests include contaminant effects on reproduction and migration in birds and immune function and population dynamics of small mammals, food chain transfer of contaminants, contaminant exposure and effects in crocodilians in Central America, and development of resistance to chemicals and associated fitness tradeoffs in small mammals. |
