Dr. Jim Carr is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Texas Tech University and holds an adjunct appointment in the Institute for Environmental and Human Health at Texas Tech. Dr. Carr was a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Anatomy, University of New Mexico prior to his appointment with Texas Tech University.

Dr. Carr's research focuses on various aspects of comparative neuroendocrinology with an emphasis on amphibians. Current research projects deal with the behavioral endocrinology of stress and the influence of environmental contaminants on amphibian development and reproduction. His research is supported by grants from the American Heart Association, the NIMH, and the Department of Defense.
